The UK-based Simulator specialist Drilling Systems approached us to upgrade one of their oil and gas drilling simulator products from Multi-LC-flatscreen to immersive projection display.
We designed, built and integrated a turnkey 8-channel high resolution display system for the drilling simulator – called MOSAIC II – and implemented the patented domeprojection.com auto-calibration solution. The quality and immersion of the new hemispheric projection systems takes drilling simulation and training to a new level. The end client of our first successful co-operation with Drilling Systems was Maersk Training, a business of A.P.Moller – MAERSK Group, one of the World’s largest shipping companies, active in providing drilling services to oil companies.
About DrillSIM:6000 by Drilling Systems, UK
Drilling Systems markets the simulator with fulldome projection under the Drill:SIM 6000 brand name. The DrillSIM:6000 is their most advanced cyberbase simulator that offers the ultimate flexibility in drilling and well control training. The simulator is configured to recreate a specific rig model and emulate equipment from any vendor and all major rig systems. Bespoke packages are available with customisable features dependant on space and requirements. DrillSIM:6000 trains the driller and assistant driller concurrently, allowing the instructor to observe and control the scenarios from a separate station.
