The fourth Reiser Level D Full Flight Simulator „Made in Germany“ for end user Swiss Air-Rescue REGA, based at Lufthansa Aviation Training GmbH (LAT) at their training centre in Opfikon (Canton Zurich) is „ready for training“, since the EASA CS-FSTD(H) Level D certificate – the highest possible certificate for flight simulators – has been approved end of 2023.
Since the success of three completed Level D certified Reiser helicopter simulator projects, we were awarded the fourth visual system for the Airbus H125/H145 Helicopter Full Flight Simulator by Reiser – the latest and world-leading simulator technology for training in Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS). The simulator comprises a 6 DOF-electric motion and vibration system, a directly projected moving imagery using eight dual-channel LED-IR projectors on a dome screen having a field of view of 240° by 80° like the third project for Lufthansa Aviation Training in Frankfurt.
The Airbus H125/H145 Helicopter-Simulator for REGA (operated by LAT in Opfikon, Zurich)
REGA and Swiss Helicopter AG decided to renew its entire helicopter fleet with 21 Airbus H145 rescue helicopters until 2026 and also acquiring an H125 simulator of the highest certification class. The helicopter simulator is equipped with interchangeable RORO (roll-on/roll-off) cockpits and can therefore display all specifics of the Airbus H125 and H145 models as well as the Leonardo AW 169, all with Level D certification.
In the simulator, REGA’s pilots and paramedics have the opportunity to efficiently train standard situations and emergency procedures that are in most cases not be possible to practise in real life.
About Swiss Air-Rescue REGA
REGA is a private, non-profit air rescue service provider offering around-the-clock service and expert assistance by air, based on the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross. They transport medical care to the casualty and help in emergency situations. In 2023 alone, REGA provided more than 15,000 Helicopter missions. Its 14 helicopter bases can reach any location in Switzerland within 15 minutes by air.
