Turnkey Immersive XR Spaces, Digital Twins and XR CAVEs by project: syntropy

Immersive XR (Extended Reality) spaces are environments that blur the line between the physical and virtual world and are designed to fully engage users through multi-sensory experiences, often leveraging technologies like virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), projection mapping, 3D audio soundscapes, and interactive elements (sensors, tracking of all kinds).
Immersive XR spaces can be next-level CAVE (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment) environments used for research, product and process development, education and training.
They are also so-called LED Volumes (dvLED-based virtual production studios), which replace green screens with LED-walls and connect real-time VR environments, virtual light and camera movement tracking with physical objects and real actors.
Immersion is not only reached by the aforementioned technologies, but also by the sheer size of the space which allows you to walk around, interact in groups and more.
Immersive XR spaces are moving beyond culture, entertainment and gaming into professional and social sectors: Training & Simulation, AI-powered Digital Twins and collaborative workspaces.

Digital Twins
Digital Twins are virtual real-time representations of physical objects or processes. They are often used to observe, analyze, simulate, maintain and optimize products, processes and systems over their entire lifecycle. Real-time data is continuously collected from them, providing insight into its condition and behavior. Product Twins and Machine Twins contain data throughout their lifecycle and provide insights into product behavior and optimization potential, e.g. for predictive maintenance, energy efficiency and more. Digital Process Twins link technical factory processes with enterprise business processes, e.g. to plan, design, test, run, optimize entire plants and complex production processes before and after building them.
Bringing a Digital Twin into an immersive XR space allows us to move from just looking at data on a flat screen to “stepping inside” and “navigating” the data supported by all available VR/AR/MR-Technologies and the increasing influence of AI in mapping and synchronizing massive real-time data. A well-used scenario is urban planning with UDTs (urban digital twins), used in Singapore, Shanghai (SUPEC) and Zurich for a variety of modeling, simulation and analyzation applications: economic crises, energy security, land use design, military conflicts, mobility, natural disasters (floods, earthquakes), pandemics, transportation…

project: syntropy has been involved in many flagship projects (e.g. SUPEC Shanghai, Fraunhofer Society Elbe Dome 2.0) creating large immersive XR spaces: we realized XR-environments for UDTs and factory planning as well as XR-CAVEs.

Immersive XR spaces can furthermore be used for a variety of purposes across different fields:

1. Entertainment and Gaming

2. Education and Training

3. Art and Creativity

4. Marketing and Retail

5. Healthcare and Therapy

6. Work and Collaboration

7. Tourism and Exploration

8. Research and Development

9. Real Estate and Architecture
